Hi Approx 4 years ago we bought a second hand 2009 5 door petrol 2.0 Ltr I30.
Yesterday coming home from down the street the EPS light came on the dash and the car had no power for the steering apart from the hydraulics. I was only a short distance to get home so carefully and at slow speed I made it home OK in the drive I stopped the engine and restarted it---All systems were all OK with full power steering support.
Today I went to unlock the car with the electronic key and the door will not respond to the signal generated from the key--I tried to use the key in the drivers door, and no luck there either.
If the battery failed completely overnight, would this be the reason the eletronic key will not w...

Hey guys, wondering if anyone else is having this problem?
In July I got a new manual 2016 SR premium (the upgrade one with the red trim) and I'm a little dissapointed. I went for the 2l thinking it would have a little more grunt and I'm coming from a 08 2l focus zetec so i expected similar.
My lil i30 is truly gutless, especially on any kind of incline. If the revs drop below 3k it dies in the ass, im talking 2nd gear up Mount Ousley kind of gutless, i have to drop to 3rd on some of the hills on the freeway from Syd to Newcastle. My focus would take these is 5th with ease! I dropped a k&n filter into it and its made a slight difference (went for a run to Nelson this week) but i cant help but think something...

Hi, I bought a 2010 I30 4sp auto this week with only 50,000 kms on the clock (car serviced at dealer where i bought it) , drove it 2km out of the dealership and it jumped from 3rd to 2nd, at the time I wasn't sure what had happened then i found it wouldn't change gear at all, auto box was non responsive and stuck in 2nd. Called the dealer up immediately and returned the car the next day, it did the exact same thing to me on the way back there.
They have had it 3 days and have just called me to say they have replaced the gearbox under the used car warranty, the only info they have given me is that 'something' was slipping in the box and it couldn't be repaired. I pick the car up after the weekend so i will post again next we...

I have a Hyundai i30 2008 diesel premium hatchback. The problem is alloy wheels loosing all paint and corroded. REPLACED ONCE WITH BRAND NEW ONES UNDER WARRANTY.
The new ones again have similar problem with corrosion and paint coming off within one year of replacement and the warranty has finished. The manager at the dealer said since it was replaced for free under warranty there is no warranty on the replaced wheels. cant believe they are more worst than the original ones.
original ones got damaged in 4 and half years. The new ones are in the same worst condition within one year of replacing. Since then it has just become worst.
Replace all new wheels cost 1000£ from Hyundai. Please suggest

I have a Hyundai i30 2008 diesel hatchback. The problem is at front suspension or steering column area. Noise while driving at potholes or speed bumps. Noise present from 3 years. passes MOT and dealer has checked thrice and never able to find it. I have spent nearly 400£ behind it and not been able to fix. Can anyone please advice what to do? I am really annoyed as car is not under warranty but problem present since the car was under warranty. Dealer not able to fix it but know there is a problem. Replaced drop links three times but didnít help.

Hello everyone, Dumb situation to be in I'm afraid. I've lost my working 'flipout' key for my 2011 FD 5 Door Hatch, Petrol 1.6lt, Auto, Black. The second flipout key has broken (blade has snapped out of the flipout part) and is inside my car. If I can just break into my car I can find my broken key and get some spares cut. I know there's supposed to be some sort of 'demobiliser' built into the flipout key, but I was able to use just the blade of the key and turn it with pliers to start the car successfully before.
I'm hoping to avoid calling a locksmith, as it will be minimum $350 and there's a chance my spare broken key may not even be inside the car...which I really hope isn't the case!
