Same thing happens at 130km, just with slightly lower km/l numbers for both gears.
Has anyone tried the same, or even heard of the 7th gear performing bad in terms of fuel consumption? Could it be a software problem? Or do i perhaps need to run another 10k km to break ...

Car is a 2014 i30 Auto Diesel 128HP GD2 Model bought a few months ago(Ex Ausgrid car with ~35k kms on the clock) ~45k kms now..
Problem: (Sorry for the long post but I'm trying to think what are the right steps to take) 2 days ago car gets stuck middle of the street while attempting to park in driveway(had to be pushed/parked by hand on the street), engine was turning and at one point briefly started yet stopped when engaged in gear. Left it for about an hour and tried again, after a couple of tries managed to start, quickly engaged gear and drove into driveway. Engine management light came on and stayed on while car was operating.
I've read everything I could I think on this issue on these forums and ordered a ...

Hello fellow i30 owners. I have a problem I can’t seem to resolve with my car infrequently coughing, particularly in lower gears. I’ve replaced the fuel filter, all glow plugs plugs, a new set of injectors and now even my local Hyundai dealers are stumped - any ideas?

This is the first vehicle I've owned with ABS/TCS and I absolutely hate it. Aside from the fact that it's incredibly annoying when it activates, it eliminates my ability to feel the road surface when braking or accelerating. Is there a way to disable this horrible system?
I've been driving for 40+ years in snow and ice and have never needed ABS/TCS, so please don't lecture me about the wonders of modern automotive electronics. I know how to handle these conditions and having a computer separate me from the road is not beneficial.

Hello!
This is my first post here. I just purchased a 2012 plate i30 1.6 CRDi with around 55k miles on the clock. Sadly it immediately had to be fitted with a new clutch and fuel filter.. but that's been done and sorted now.
After using it for a proper commute I've noticed that I can't sit at 30mph in 4th gear without the engine juddering slightly. This is around 1,150/1,200 rpm. What I'm wondering is whether this is the sign of a potential issue or if it's just the gear ratios?
In my previous cars (a 2014 diesel 1-series and Toyota Aygo petrol) they'd happy sit in 4th at 30mph. Sure if I put my foot flat to the floor nothing would really happen unless I downshifted.

Has anyone tried to successfully put an amp underneath the passangers seat? Looks like it might be a bit tough with the plastic ducting and plastic ridges there.

Hi everyone,
I think this is my first post in like 10 years, and the first for my wife's GD i30 Tourer CRDi (auto, 2013). It's our family workhorse (two toddlers).
Firstly - technical background on our car - bought from dealer at 24k km in 2014, 65,000kms now, never had an issue, serviced by book. Has generally been a great perfect-sized car in the suburbs as well as out on the open road (we drive from Sydney to Coffs every year).
Lately, I've noticed a noticeable increase in road noise in the car, particularly at 60km/h - a humming noise, not exactly a "whoop whoop" type of noise associated with scalloped tyres (which I experienced many years ago), but a distinct hum loud enough to annoy me. As the speed in...

High Wycombe, 10th January 2018 – The i30 N, on sale now, has been awarded Best Hot Hatch at the UK Car of the Year Awards 2018. The category win means that Hyundai’s much-lauded hatchback will now compete for the overall UK Car of the Year award, which will be announced at the end of February.

Hi all,
New to the forum, happy to be here. With my 2012 GD now out of warranty I'm servicing it myself. I'm competent on the tools and am setting out to change the auto trans fluid.
I couldn't find instructions for the GD but found this for the Elantra which I'm guessing has the same box (all the fill and check points were the same): elantra 2011-2016 auto trans fluid change
Is this the same box as in the i30? Without the GDS diagnostics is there any way to know when the auto trans fluid temp is about 60 degrees? Lastly I've got Penrite LV to replace the factory fluid with, has anyone ...
