Hi guys, I have a Hyundai i30 2011. I am new a driver and I want to check that all my tyres are the correct pressure. The card on the side of my door has a lot of numbers as shown below and it's is confusing me. Say I have a tyre size of "185/65 R15 88H". Then should I make sure that the tire pressure is at the normal load or maximum load?

Normal load is the pressure required unless the vehicle is under heavy load (towing etc) then you would go with Maximum psi.

You're looking at the range 32-35 (front) and 32-38 (rear), so you could compromise and go with 34 all round.

I use 36 all round.

I'm 34 -35 PSI. The old mans garage puts 38 all round which I think is a bit high

I do 41 all 'round, which got 88,000 km out of my OEM tyres.

Trish (my wife) finds 35 all round is a good compromise for ride and handling. Should be ok for wear and economy too.

36 psi works for me.
38 if I go on a long trip with a bit of load.

Wouldn't try that with the Zirconia-backs  !

I have found 36psi is a very good all round pressure. Be aware they tend to wear inner edges quickly if you let them go below 32psi for too long.

I had inner rear left getting badly worn but was scalloped which I suspect was bad shock. Off topic a little but are there any weak links in the rear?

Nope, never do anything to them, even shocks.

I generally go 35-36 all round in most modern cars.
24-26 all round in a P76 (manufacturer's recommendations), as they are a very light car.

Wow, they don't look particularly light. Economy must be pretty cheerful.

They weigh 1200+ kgs - same as a Corolla.
Which, combined with their good weight distribution, is probably why they handle so well.

Love the P76 as you know. Never went much for the force 7 though.

I use 3kg all round, should be 42psi or something on my summers(16"). Winters(15") i inflate to 2.6kg(37psi) at -10c, gives a decent compromise on grip/handling and economy.

I tried the factory recomended presures - not happy with the handling, feels like the car is very slippery, felt unsafe.

For good ride and handling, 36psi is the perfect tire pressure for me.
