Visited the local Beamish Museum today. A fantastic display of old vehicles. All jobs were easy to do. You went on holiday with a condenser, fan belt, plugs and points. A can of water and oil.





When you finished the jobs nothing like a good soap to wash away the muck. Takes me back to bath night.

Yes, enjoy the old car museums. Although you needed to take stuff like that on holidays then (not  so much now)

My 95 y/o dad was a mechanic in the 50's and 60's , he's a big fan of the modern car's reliability. He alway goes on about how the Japanese revolutionised the motor vehicle .. No more grinding of valves or oil leaks etc... (except for the wife's Tourer)

old cars built to be easy for owners to work on do own service, new cars designed to make dealer ships money and discourage owners working on them . same with everything they want your money. but I'm not going back to driving old cars, like old bikes the best
