Title: Fuel tank
Post by: steve89 on October 21, 2019, 02:40:36
Hi All,

I got a new 2019 i30 PD Active auto a few months ago, and recently, when I was looking under the car at the rear where i think the fuel tank is, I saw some kind of spray on stuff on the tank.  Not sure what this is?  Initially, I thought it was road mud/dirt, but closer look it actually stuck on the surface.
Does anyone knows what this is ? and what purpose does it serves?

Cheers

A photo would help to explain what you’re seeing, I expect it may be the transport spray coating that should also be inside the wheel wells on all the black plastics  :undecided: might also be the rubberised underbody coating :undecided:

Mine had this black coating which started flaking away upon first wash.

Why did you look under the car?

Are you sure that it is the fuel tank?

Are you sure it is "some kind of spray on stuff"?

If so, who sprayed it?

Please help, this is very stressful.

I think you might be losing the plot Gary..  :crazy2:

But as long as you are having fun and nobody is getting hurt, all is well.  :snigger: :goodjob:

Call in the forensics team! :crazy1:

Border Force will want to examine the chemical composition for marijuana.
The i30 is the new boogie board bag! :sweating:

Ooy! do you realise I live under the close  gaze of Dr Death Dutton?  :scared:

One should note that this may have been a Silk Road probe.  Note, OP has gone to ground and the Perth member ( the West being a known illicit route)  has created a soothing and flaky response.  :whistler:

Stay alert my comrade :goodjob:.
