I noticed it is a pretty common issue for the glove box light to stop working,
but bulbs are fine and no fuse blown
mine did stop working (or so I thought) until I noticed one night that my glove box lights up when it is closed. ive seen a very dim glow at the edges of the glove box. it made me wonder where it coming from. whenever I open the glove box theres no light.
so I dismantled the glove box and noticed that there is a switch behind it that controls the glove box light. whenever I press that switch it turns on the light and turns off when released. which got me thinking I should just tap it directly to parklight and bypass the glovebox switch.
and voila that did the trick.. problem solved.

Let me get this right...
You've arranged for the glovebox light to illuminate whenever you turn on your park lights, whether the compartment is open or not?
whenever I press that switch it turns on the light and turns off when released
Is that not the wrong way round?

I had same issue.
Realised that there was a void causing the switch not to fully depress when the glove box closes.
I put a sticky tab on the box where the switch presses against.
So when box closes the switch presses against the tab and the void no longer exists.

Hope that doesn't void the warranty.. :snigger:

yes same with my mitsubishi montero sport, it doesnt have a glove box switch. it turns on whenever you turn on the parklights
