Title: i30 Muffler replaced
Post by: PeeJay35 on July 27, 2020, 03:23:53
My i30 Active (petrol) is just 2 years and only 10000 km on the clock. At the 2 year service last week I was told there was  problem with the muffler. I have just taken it back and they replaced the “Centre Muffler” under warranty - no cost to me.

My query - Is it common to have this sort of failure in a 2 year old car with such low mileage? Is it likely to happen again?

No and no, they’re a stainless system that should last the life of the car.

The only part that generally requires replacing is the catalytic converter, though even those will last 10 years or more.

Welcome Peejay,

 :whsaid:

Certainly not a problem that has come up on here before that I recall. With over 12,000 members in 80+  countries, you would expect it to, if it was common.
