Radio
Hello,
Regarding 2011 i30.
I usually listen to music from Spotify by connecting my iPhone through the USB, but it quite often glitches and suddenly changes to the radio, or the system turns off, or the volume turns up to 100, or the song starts skipping. It is usually triggered by driving over a bump and it seems to be happening more and more frequently.
Does anyone know what this problem could be and what is the cheapest way to fix it?
Thank you

Wont Start
My daughter recently purchased a used i30.
She says that at times (not often) it is hard to start and lacks power for a while and then comes good. She says that there does not seem to be a pattern to this problem and it doesn't happen often.
She took it to a mechanic (NOT a Hyundai workshop) and when she explained the problem he told her (my daughter's words) that he thinks it is a problem with the fuel rail and/or fuel pressure regulator and that it would cost about $500 to fix. I am not sure if she should pay out that sort of money unless she is assured that his diagnosis is correct. I know that there are many sensors in the engine such as the MAP, throttle position etc which could cause this problem.

Has anyone had t...

EGR Valve
Hi everyone.

First of all, accept my apologies for any grammar/spelling errors. English is not my first language.

I have a 2013 1.4 CRDi 16V 90hp Hyundai. I have used it 60% urban / 40% highway. We have a mandatory service check here for all cars, periodicity depends on how old the car is.

I did not pass it because of gas emissions.

Truth to be told, I have not taken care of my cars until some months ago when I began learning and tinkering some staff by myself (oil change, filters replacement, etc). So I was not surprised at all.

I used a fuel additive that (in theory) cleans accumulated carbon a bit and drove high on rpms for a week and I passed at the second try. However, I think th...

Spark Plug
Hi all,

I'm getting ready for a flash tune on my N Line in the next week or so and wanted to upgrade to colder plugs beforehand.

Can anyone tell me if they've done this on their N Line or SR and if so what's the model number of the plugs you've uses.

Thanks

Bulbs
Hi

I have a PD.3 i30 N Line

The light circled (park light?) below does not come on. It never has.

Should this light come on??? I'm thinking 'yes' but would like to hear from someone here. Thanks.

The owners manual indicates that the DRLs and Parking lamp are the same thing. At the back of the manual they are both listed as LED. And there's this picture that doesn't even address the bulb in question:

Alternator
I have a 2009 Hyundai i30 1.6 CRDi.
On the auxilary belt drive system one of the pulleys is the spring loaded tensioner pulley.
Does anyone know what tool I need to put in centre of the pulley so I can release the tension to change the belt please?
Thank you.

Windows
Well, both front windows died (GD).  One just inside the warranty period which was sorted without any sort of explanation as to what failed/was fixed. And then the other one about 12 months later after a weekend in the country with some driving on dirt roads and cattle grids.

I mention this since I wonder if something has come loose inside the door and its as simple as sorting out a loose connector. One window failing is bad luck. Both is a bit suspicious.

I'm yet to take it the dealer nearly 12 months later, since who uses the window anyway... and they wanted a couple of hundred bucks to look at it.

Anyone know what might be going on here and is it worth pulling apart myself to take a look?? I suck at rem...

Wont Start
Hey All,

Long time lurker, first time poster!

Like a lot of the other PD 1.6T owners out there, i also have been suffering from starting issues with my car. It has been back to the dealer twice for it, first time was "we could not identify the problem" second time "we applied a firmware update to resolve". Alas, the issue persists!

This morning was a different morning for me, car started well no issues. However halfway through the trip to work i notice it started to run a little rough.
With the slightest mention of an incline, and it would really get rough. Eventually it gave up and coughed to a stop with the engine light on, and i cruised it into a side street.

Funnily enough, it started fin...
