TPMS
Hi All
I have a 2017 MY18 I30 Elite with the tyre size of 225x45x17.
With my tyres getting low in tread I have had my first puncture, so change to the full size spare only to find there is no Pressure Sensors fitted just the standard rubber valve stem.
So the question being does anyone know if there is any issue fitting a sensor to the spare rim regarding valve stem area design. I assume its the same as all other rims and one should just fit without having to modifie the surrounding area.
Have been looking for the part number and it seem to be 52933-D9100 if anyone can confirm this it would be great as I would rather not have to go to Hyundai for one as the price like most things straight from Hyundai would be silly.

DPF
Hi,
this is my first post here and first I want to take the opportunity to express my graditude to everyone here.
I read a lot of problems here but I have not quite found the solution to my problem.

I have a problem with my car Hyundai i30 1.4 crdi 2013 with 143000 km

The probem is that the DPF regeneration is taking place too often, around every 50km or less.
The fuel consumption is 7l per 100km no matter if its open road or in the city.
Also my oli level rises over the max mark 15 mm  in just 3000 to 4000 km.
Three times I have measured the amount of overfilled disel in oil and it is around 1.8 to 2 liters in just 4000km.

The car has no fault codes and works normally.
I went...

Air Con
Hi everyone,

Always when gets cold around 0 degrees, fog on my windows from inside appears. So in cold morning I end up with ice on the windscreen inside the car. This did not happened last winter. I've tried to search for similar topics and the only similar issue I found was blocked A/C drain, but it always caused water on passenger mats. I've checked the car and didn't find anything wet. Did anyone had the same issue? I own Hyundai i30 SE 2016.

Thanks for any help.

Oil Leak
Hi I'm new to this forum...

I am helping a friend diagnose an oil leak from the front crank seal on his 2010 i30 2.0l petrol. The seal is getting blown/pushed out.

I've read several threads on this forum but couldn't find how to add a reply to them. Seems the oil pump is at the front of the crank and the likely culprit. Also seems that end play on the crank due to worn thrust bearings is related.

Here are my questions:
- The crank only has 12 thou end play, apparently 10 is max spec, but surely 12 can't be enough to damage the pump and cause high pressure on the seal. I would have expected the fit to the crank has a spline or flat to drive and has the ability to at least allow for differential expansion...

Servicing
Hi All.

Have just recieved this email from the ACCC Product Safety.
:link: Hyundai Motor Company Australia Pty Ltd ? Hyundai i30 (FD) MY2007-2012 | Product Safety Australia
there is a VIN list to check if your vehicle is affected.

What are the defects?
Due to improper programming of the Airbag Control Unit (ACU), there is a possibility that the driver, passenger airbags and seat belt pretensioners could inadvertently deploy without impact.

What are the hazards?
If the airbag is deactivated or is inadvertently activated, this increases the risk of an ...

Door Locking
Hi & Merry & Safe Xmas to All,      I am a new member and new at entering an article so I hope I don"t stuff up---- I have had a dream run on my 2013 i30 diesel hatch  at 212,000 k in 6yr UNTIL this hiccup ( apart from a rat eating a hole in the windscreen washers reservoir)   To the door--I have removed the trim, and the outside door handle, Through the space that the handle was I can see a loose cable end (ball) which has become detached from the latch somehow.  Can anyone please advise me of best way of accessing the latch area etc so I can reconnect /repair the problem hopefully without pulling the window reg panel etc out unnecessarily. Due to the fine limestone dust that abounds here in Lower Eyre Peninsula my other doors are heading ...

Brake Pads
Hi,

Good morning.

I am using Hyundai i30 2018 model (in UK) which is fairly new under 30,000 miles. From last one month rarely I am noticing spongy brakes i.e., brake pedal going down all the way to floor and brake is ineffective i.e., car doesn't stop and also heard some scraping noise on the ground. In the first 2 instances I myself didn't believe that kind of thing happening but last week I clearly noticed these symptoms and felt very scary, good thing at that point is not much traffic and enough gap to the front vehile near small round about. The brake worked fine when it has comeup basically it's rare behavior but it is dangerous depends on the situation we are in. Given the stress one can get into with such situa...

Tyres
i30 GD in for service today, dealer calls to tell me wheel stud has broken when removing wheel (OK, this happens) but the dealer says that when they replace the stud there is a 90 - 95% chance the wheel bearing will be damaged and will have to be replaced. Cost approx $600.  Is this a thing? or am I being taken for a ride?

Check Engine Light
Hi guys, this is my first post and probably in the wrong place. I drive a 2017 i30 1.6 diesel. The low engine warning message keeps coming up but when I check the oil level it's fine. Note, car was level and cold when i checked. Tia

Test Drive
I'll be honest I had my doubts before I drove it. If I was going to upgrade my 2012 model it had to be worth it. Noticed massive changes between the two and I fell in love. So much tech!

I couldn't help myself and signed the doted line after also scoring genuine mats and a $700 fuel voucher.

I'm really upset to see my beast go, I've had it for 4 years and treasured it (I'm not crying I swear :blubber: ) but looking forward to new adventures.
