Just got an email from Hyundai introducing the new i30 SEDAN.

Apparently they've finally scrapped the Elantra name.

Due here later this year.

My drivers side high beam suddenly does not work. I replaced the bulb but it still doesn't work. The passenger side high beam works and regular driving lights work on both sides. Is there a fuse or relay i should check or has anyone Else experienced the same problem and have a solution?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

I just wanted to share something that happened to me yesterday. It shook me up quite a bit...

Was on my way home after taking my little girl to the beach for the day. Cruising along at 110 on the freeway when the battery warning light flashed up – thought it was a little odd considering I just replaced it last month. Nowhere safe to pull over at that stage so just kept driving. Was aiming for the servo about 15km away. About 10 mins later the dash warnings lit up like a Christmas tree. Then I noticed the power had gone out of the electrics, including the steering. The steering wheel went rigid and it felt like it seized up. Oil Pump
Morning all,
This is my first post on the forum as I am fairly new to the i30 owners club. I bought my i30 last June and haven't had any problems with it at all until a week ago. The red oil pressure light flashed on and off intermittently as I got to work last Tuesday morning. I got the AA out and they checked over the car. They confirmed oil and water levels were fine, and that the engine was running without any strange noises so didn't think it was a pressure issue. They also connected it up to their iPad but didn't get any errors. They reset the warning light by hitting the start/stop button 3 times. Brake Pads
Hi guys,

After some advice.

Both me and my partner have i30's - both diesels

Mine - i30 Estate manual 66 reg

Partners - i30 Automatic 14 reg

Partners i30 just been in for service and mot - been advised that her discs and brakes need changing (£600) - this will be 2nd time in two years.

She does between 6000 to 8000 miles per year.

Is there something wrong that means the discs and brakes need constantly changing?

Hi! New user here but for the last week I think I’ve read every possible post on this topic.

Exactly a week ago I purchased a used 2014 i30 Trophy and was unfortunately greeted with a stereo that had no sound

After researching I discovered the head unit model (GD-01) is notorious for this issue.

Today I took the car back to the dealership for a service and they told me “No issues were found that they could fix. A replacement stereo has been ordered. Come back in 10 days”.

If my research serves correct, replacing the stereo with the same unit will just lead to this issue down the track, and of course by then my warranty will be over.

Just joined. Have been a consumer of info on this site a long time. Hope to contribute at some point.

However I need a hand to find how to remove the clutch  master cycliner to replace it.
Can't get it out or find any info on this subject.
Appears to be blocked inside car by metal structure holding brake and clutch pedals

Hopefully an easier way than remove this huge metal structure.

Its a 2007 Diesel 5 door i30

Hi all

I was wondering if anyone has experienced similar to what i have with my heather in my 2019 i30 Nline in their i30s. I'm unsure, but i think most late model i30s would have a similar heater to my Nline's dual climate control?

When the AC is off, and i turn the heating up in increments of 1 degree C - the temperature doesn't really get warmer until it gets to around 28-29 degrees C. I think the lowest temperature is 16 or so and the highest is 32. Once it gets to around 29, the air starts to feel warmer and then from 29-32 (before it hits high) - the temperature does get incrementally warmer. There doesn't appear to be any difference in temperature from low to 29 degrees C.

Is this happening to anyone...

Problems & Issues
Have asked on the FB forum but looking for a second opinion.  4 weeks old to me FD wagon 144000kms, 2 weeks ago randomly would crank but not start.  Searching here and elsewhere I thought it might have been the chip sensor in the ignition as I started to note the key symbol on the dash not light up when it happened, further checking also shows me the RPM gauge does not move when cranking.
So I was thinking of replacing the chip sensor ring but on FB a guy thinks its more likely to be the crankshaft position sensor since the RPM gauge doesn't move at all when 'dry' cranking.
Still just under warranty, want to give the correct info to the (non Hyundai) dealer so its fixed the first time, thanks.

I didn't want a problem with my new car, but it seems I might have one.
I bought a new petrol manual PD 2019 build Go in September last year.
Currently on @ 8500 kms.
Lovely car to drive, although doesn't feel as solid as my previous GD diesel and FD diesel.
However, I have an intermittent (worst type) problem with the gearbox.
99 times out of 100 there's no issue, but every so often, it just refuses to go into third gear.
And knowing about the problem, I'm waiting every time for it to happen.
When it does, there is no other way than to pull back to neutral and have another go. It always goes in on the second attempt.
Reverse gear is also very difficult to select usually, to the point it's embarrassin...
