I have a 2009 Hyundai i30 1.6 CRDi.
On the auxilary belt drive system one of the pulleys is the spring loaded tensioner pulley.
Does anyone know what tool I need to put in centre of the pulley so I can release the tension to change the belt please?
Thank you.

Well, both front windows died (GD).  One just inside the warranty period which was sorted without any sort of explanation as to what failed/was fixed. And then the other one about 12 months later after a weekend in the country with some driving on dirt roads and cattle grids.

I mention this since I wonder if something has come loose inside the door and its as simple as sorting out a loose connector. One window failing is bad luck. Both is a bit suspicious.

I'm yet to take it the dealer nearly 12 months later, since who uses the window anyway... and they wanted a couple of hundred bucks to look at it.

Anyone know what might be going on here and is it worth pulling apart myself to take a look?? I suck at rem...

Wont Start
Hey All,

Long time lurker, first time poster!

Like a lot of the other PD 1.6T owners out there, i also have been suffering from starting issues with my car. It has been back to the dealer twice for it, first time was "we could not identify the problem" second time "we applied a firmware update to resolve". Alas, the issue persists!

This morning was a different morning for me, car started well no issues. However halfway through the trip to work i notice it started to run a little rough.
With the slightest mention of an incline, and it would really get rough. Eventually it gave up and coughed to a stop with the engine light on, and i cruised it into a side street.

Funnily enough, it started fin...

Hi to everyone, i have only recently joined the forum and this is my first post, so i thought i'd start with a review of my 2 month old i30 n-line dct.

There are only a couple of negatives with this vehicle so i will start with the good stuff!.

performance & handling: both are excellent for a car at this  price point, refined powerful turbocharged engine with more than enough shove for any situation with roadholding to match the performance.

The 7 speed dct is better than a lot of reviews would have you believe it changes smoothly and the shift programming seems spot on, especially in sport mode where the changes are lightning quick, yes you know you are not driving a conventional torque converter auto as it...

One of his most watchable reviews. He cuts the antics... I know it's been out for  a while but it's a great summary of the features and benefits.

Fuel Economy
Hi All,

As per another post, I'm up to 20,000klms on my SR DCT. Really happy with it, fuel economy is excellent. It uses about 0.5-1.0L/100klm less than my 09 Lancer 2.0 CVT that I traded.

I commute around 110klms per day total, mostly flat highway driving. For the first 13-15,000klms I was consistently getting under 5.7l/100klms economy. A few days here and there it would get down to mid-low 5's. I don't think people would believe me if I didn't have the pictures to provide it  :D This is mostly flat highway driving, 4 sets of traffic lights in the 50 minutes, a few roundabouts etc. For the past 5-7000klms I've noticed that fuel economy hasn't been as good. My driving style hasn't changed and I've always filled it wit...

Hi All,

I've owned my SR DCT for 8 months now and just hit the 20k mark this morning. Other than the issue I posted in another thread (which was my fault, not a fault of the car), I've had no issues at all other than a fan button that sticks occasionally.

I still can't believe how quiet the engine is, even when giving it the boot compared to our other car which is a MY14.5 Outlander. Road noise on the other hand is pretty average at highway speeds but with my music blasting it isn't too bad. I've heard people comment on how average the stereo is, but I'm really happy with it. Bass is impressive!

I've never really used sport mode (except for the odd quick take off) until yesterday when I did 50klms with it on...

Door Locking
Hi All

Went to unlock the car this morning and it will not unlock.  Nil response from the remote and the key in the door lock will not unlock it either.  Any suggestions on getting in besides breaking a window?

Hi Everyone,

It happened first in December 2018, After parking my car at mall, It didn't start after I came back, called road side assistance, he tried his best but nothing happened, After that two mechanics check they confirmed it is an issue with electronics so better to check with Hyundai, which I couldn't get appointment for next 2-3 months. Then car got started after checking from the third local mechanic. He said the issue was immobilizer software he fixed it by resetting or reinstalling it.
Every thing was going fine till last week, I was going up hill and Engine shut down suddenly while driving :crazy1:, It wasn't starting again same issue which happened in December.
I went to Huyndai this time and asked them...
