24 string l.e.d. DRL's - Wiring

Hi all.
First, Thanks Steve for sorting out my log-on / Password.
Next, sorry for being away so long.

Down to my query.

2 things,
1) looking for an ignition switched 12v supply under the bonnet.
2) which wire / what colour is the sidelight feed on the passenger side front on a UK spec 1.6 petrol engined Premium?

These 2 connections are all I need to complete to have my DRL's working, once done I'll Post a picture up, personally I think they look The Shiz & only cost me £10 in total!

Done!

Picked up my ignition controlled 12v from fuse 15 (B/UP) & spliced into the brown 12v feeder wire inside the headlight unit, pretty easy really.

Works as planned so need to get some pics up ASAP!  :cool:

They look pretty Ffoxy  :lol:  I hope the fun police don't ping you for their location which is not where AlanHo says they are technically supposed to be positioned...
  • 2021 MG PHEV ( had 4 x i30 plus a Getz an Elantra and a Tucson)

You would be OK in Tassie (they don't seem to police that sort of stuff) but Alan said they are supposed to be the same distance in from the side of the car as they are up from the road?

I doubt the Plod here will take much notice, but they should go on & off as & when mine do, should be no less than 25cm above the road & no higher than 150cms. The extreme outside edge of the lamps should be no less than 400mm & should be fitted "wherever any other light might be fitted" & symmetrical on both sides. I think I got it covered  :goodjob2:

Well done, a very neat job. I fitted DRLs to my other car using a cheap 5 pin relay. They were a very cheap 12 LED DRL from ebay. I can't recommend them as they are not bright enough. Yours however look excellent.

Nice when things work out, I took a chance based on buyers feedback, all commented on the level of the l.e.d. brightness. Seems like a perfect spot for the mounts too, just took a wee bit of threading with a long cable tie to get the wiring in.
