As the week has passed, i've had a lot of small parcels of car bits arriving after emptying the streets of china via eBay.
One of which was my HID kit. So i took to changing the headlights to HID's. They look fantastic when the cars turned off, but as soon as you start it the left one flashes then won't turn on. On the odd occasion it does turn on after the engine has started, it will flicker then go out with different engine rpm.
At first I thought maybe it was a bad connection but after double checking and triple checking, everything seems to be connected fine..?

Maybe its something to do with voltage..?

How hard is it to swap the thingy that powers the lamps, sounds like 1 is faulty. Always a good idea to test devices before installing them.

Did you sorted it out?
I have the exact same problem this evening!

After installing the Converson Kit, everything is working just fine until the engine starts.
The headligt "starts up" and stays on for a couple of seconds, flashes a few times and then "dark black" and switch off. Turn off the engine, lock the cars, unlock it and everything went back to normal.
Whith the engine turned off, the headlamps can be "on" several minutes without any problems, but as soon as you start the engine everything "goes bananas".

I really can´t figure why!
With the engine turned off, headlamps on, the voltage on the HID is about 12.7V.
When the engine running, headlamp start to flash a couple of times and then "shuts down", the voltage on the HID is about 14.6V. I don´t understand why the HID is shutting down! Even if I "reconnect" the power to the HID, still engine running", it wouldn´t start. I have to stop the engine to make it work normal again. STRANGE!

@ plutoorjan

Sounds like over voltage protection to me, do you have any specifications supplied with the unit.

Well, on the HID it says 11-16V, but I guess it could be "whatever" values with these china devices.
Even more strange is that this kit is new (55w), and if I "borrow" another HID from my Honda (35w) it behaves the exact same way. Conclusion from that I suppose is: HID okey.

I couldn't solve it in other ways than to install a "relay" with separate + and minus direct from the battery. The  "trigger cable" came from the original lamp holder. My English isn´t so good, but it´s the same "principal" for this as for installing extra high beam lamps.

Now everything is seems to be working just fine.
