Please excuse me if this has been asked before but does anyone know how to disable the Korean Train Station chimes that occur when I start/stop my car?

I don't think you can disable them.  I wouldn't want to though.

I dont' have any start/stop chimes in my GD.

(Except the "warning chime" when the temperature gets below 4°C or someone hasn't fitted a seatbelt)

Are you referring to the chime that welcomes you when you open the door & get in the car, as well as when you turn the car off? If so, it will be in the user settings of the car. Refer to your manual for instructions on turning it off.

Are you (Hyundai) serious...

Who the beeep wants a chime playing every time you enter or leave the car.

If you need a tune to know you're entering the car, you shouldn't drive at all.. :scared:

Heh, yeah, I don't get it either. It was the  first thing I turned off in the car after I got it home.

Is it an audible door open warning perhaps. Haven't experienced this, does it activate on all doors.

How? I can't see from the manual how to do this.

That's the one. I couldn't see any reference in the manual but perhaps I was having a boy look

In the new Jaguars, it's called the "Jaguar handshake."
Everything comes to life, the ambient lighting comes on the air vents close and open and the gear selector "dial" rises from the centre console to be ready for use.
Slightly more sophisticated than a Hyundai.

Is there a device in the seat to give your crown jewels a tweak to make them comfy when you sit down?............ :snigger:

(And before you butt in - I have heard the one about the golf tees in the Jaguar to put your balls on before you drive off).

Yes, actually.
It's called the "Jaguar Test Tickle."

Sadly no such explanation in the Oz manual. There is a one pager on the welcome system but just talks about the lights. If someone would be so kind as to explain the process for turning the welcome chime off I would be ever so grateful.

In the GD model, turn the ignition/engine on, then press the trip button until you get to the 'User Settings' option. You will then need to press and hold the Trip button down for a few seconds.

Once you're in the User settings, scroll through them until you come to the 'Welcome Sound' option. You can then change it to 'Off'.
It will only be available on vehicles equipped with this feature.

It is likely to be in section 4, page 57 of your manual (certainly for the European models it should be).

In the user settings, you can also change the following options, if they're equipped for your vehicle:
Auto door lock (speed, shift lever)
Auto door unlock (speed, shift lever)
Headlamp delay (on, off)
Auto triple turn - one touch indicators for three seconds (on, off)
Welcome light -exterior puddle lights & mirror lights (on, off)
Welcome sound (on, off)
AVG fuel economy (auto reset after filling up the tank, manual reset)
Temperature unit (Fº or Cº)
Eco driving - manual transaxle (on, off)
Language (various)

I got this info from the Hyundai i30 manual app in iTunes.
