Would doing this mod be legal in Australia? I know the bottom set would be fine but would I be allowed the have eye lines going as well? I think I would look fanny-tastic against the black paint on my car! bling bling

After you've done it, the local constabulary will soon tell you if it's not.  ;)
They're good like that.

I thought there might have been a height requirement or a one set only rule or something.

It wouldn't project that much light or cause much of a distraction. I have seen these before and thought about getting them

They look awesome! I love seeing mods on the GD's (FD's are still the better looking ones :P)

They will be fine, no reason why they would be illegal

Thanks Rusty, just wiring up my DRL's to the VP Commodore, measurements all check out.

BTW, I really am doing this, not trying to stir at all.

We do drive Ruby most often but occasionally, Victor gets a run too, he tows the trailer and does heavy work.

No worries, all in jest.

This car is just coming up to 200 k kms. Spent a lot of time used on weekends, so still reaping the benefits of the car. Starting to cost a bit to maintain now. Drives beautifully though.

So far I have replaced LHS valve lifters, 2 alternator swaps, 2 water pumps, electric window relay, 1 A Trans filter clean, serpentine belt and just recently, swap power steering pump & rack. Done all the work, except the A.T and the last 2, myself.

Over about 15 years. Purrs like a kitten now so hopefully, that's the end of the major stuff. Can;t see me buying a new vehicle for the rest of my time, I'll either loose my license or kick the bucket, whichever comes 1st.

Geez, I hope you've done less on the i30 than you have on the Commodore at 200,000...

Well I was wanting to have the genuine fog light drl's and the eyeline drl's if legal... But since its not I'll settle with just the eyelines.

Edit: Are the eyelines "technically" lamps? All they are is a strip of LEDs in a white tube to disperse the light into one continuous line. Its not like they throw any light forward like  most DRLs.

The fog light/drl's aren't illegal....as you probably know, there are already Hyundai i30 models coming into Australia with these fitted as standard (Tourer & SE).

The only issue may be the eyeline lights, but that has yet to be ascertained...  :undecided:
