Hey guys, I recently had a new clutch kit put in my FD-01 2011 My11 i30 SLX Diesel and now I have a droning noise in 4th 5th and 6th gears and small vibration. Any suggestions on what Hyundai might have done wrong? P.s. they said they machined the fly wheel

Theres nothing internally of the gearbox that should have been affected doing a clutch replacement so that side of it should be fine.

Does the noise/vibration follow the engine speed or vehicle speed?
Did they keep the vehicle overnight?

I would have them check the driveshafts have been located in the gearbox correctly and check the wheel bearings and make sure they haven't pushed the vehicle around with the driveshafts out. This can damage wheel bearings.

Thanks Cruiserfied. Have been back to Hyundai and they say that it would be the new clutch bedding in. They machined the fly wheel and put a new clutch kit in. It seems to be getting a little bit better with more driving. I'll keep you posted  :)

I've honestly never heard of this happening before.
Be interesting to see how it develops.

There's should be no noises or vibrations at all after a clutch replacement. The flywheel being machined is a good thing, but still doesn't allow any noises or vibrations.

Back to the dealer and let them know they're full of BS...

Yes, clutches wear out. They don't wear in.
