Thanks for the replies, oh, it's the internal handle that now does nothing.I guess you guys are now in 2017 ................. have a good one buddies Slime.
So, have you removed the door trim to check it out?Is the cable broke or the handle? Remove the shroud, pop the cover, reove single screw, slides over the handle, and you may get a good look, as you pull the handle out fully you can see if the hook has broken away?I've had a couple simply break away where the cable hooks in, and I've had one explode out of the retainer as i open the door.
There is also a closed recall, (recall closed 31/01/2016), for my drivers' interior door handle cable!!So, in short, next Monday I will have two recalls done and either the door cable fitted for nothing or the cable supplied for a few pounds.I think that's a reasonable result ....................... I'll let you know what happens next week.
well as you have removed the card etc may be they will do it as a goodwill.
I'd say a great result! Although time will tell...
Oh, they had also done a health check and noticed that the driver's front door card had been removed ................ no shit, Sherlock!
I had the same problem here in Italy, my internal driver door handle stopped working. I asked for a change and got the part number for change under recall from the USA and Australia, only that the Italian Hyundai franchise didnt opt for the recall, so they hit me with a quote for €220 plus Vat and work hours for a replacement. My local garage fixed the problem for €40 total. I was not amused to say the least as I also have a friend who works in Hyundai italy but i was given no assistance
Lets hope the novelty does not wear off when the mechanism breaks. Could the glass be misaligned?
