Have this issue most in reverse, of when I drive and put around 30km/h in the first gear en clutch coming up for about 75%. Also i have this noise sometimes just in the first gear en let coming the pedal up for 75%.

Here is a youtube video what I have find (not my video) with the same noise.

Nothing to much too worry about, I had the same in my car.
Something to do with the brakes slightly touching the discs and going in the opposite direction they are used to.

One thing to check which I never thought of at the time is to see if the pads are properly seated, when I came to change the rear pads, one pad wasn’t in its correct position so it was tilted at an angle against the disc. My pads were probably good for a few thousand more miles at the time so yeah it’s good to check these things on second hand cars

To add, it is also when i press the brake or handbrake and then lettinf the clutch coming up and giving some gas. So not sure id it are the brakes is the tires arent turning.

Hm, I experience the same noise on 1.4 i30 FD.
When the clutch is not entirely released when reversing I hear it. Also, when downshifting.
I have a feeling like the clutch is dry as a fresh pair of diapers.
One year later and I still don't know what's causing that noise :/

Hey, did you ever figure out the root cause of this problem?

I have the exact same issue and this is the only other case where I could verify that it WAS the same issue.

If you ask me, I didn't find out.
The guys at service said it's what the FD clutch does.
They could replace it, but they can't guarantee the noise won't be back after a few thousands of kilometers.

The clutch doesn't slip or has any issues that would require the change.

It still boggles my mind what is happening inside that causes that bloody noise which really is annoying as a wives mother.
