I have a 2008 i30cw. (Not sureif 66 or 85kw)...

Last night, I felt my clutch slip pretty bad, so... In the words of Rafiki, "It is time."

I've boiled my choices down to Sachs and Valeo. (Weigh in your choice/onion if you'd like)

Online, the Sachs is 240mm while the Valeo is 215. Both say they are for my car. Can somebody enlighten me here? Will either work? If so, Sachs is the obvious choice. (Planned upgrades include intake (done), exhaust and remap/chip (torn).

Thanks, and ... GO!

I think if you provided links to the information you have read that would be a good start.  Valeo are the OEM disc as far as I know. Your VIN may help determine which one .

There were part changes through the series maybe around 2009 I think. You may have to pull it apart to confirm the original

Not sure on the specs but 240mm maybe teh diamtere of the pressure plate, 235mm could be the disc which would make sense it would be slightly smaller. Don't know where your 215 is. I would not expect that sort of descrepancy

Thank you!

Pretty sure with this info, I will confidently buy the Sachs. In my research, I have found Luk, Sachs and Valeo.

Luk: Mixed reviews, far too many negative.. 50/50
Valeo: OEM replacement, couple people had negative reviews.. 80/20
Sachs: Aftermarket that is a bit more expensive... 100% positive reviews

You may find it's slipping due to oil contamination. Apparently it's  common for the gearbox seals to leak. Mine did at 40.000 miles.
The seal is about £10. But you will need to remove 5th gear to split the box and bellhousing to fit the seal  . Good luck.
