I was watching a certain car auction this week.

A nice looking, low kms  GD i30 3 door manual hatch came up. It had some relatively minor malicious damage. Easily repaired.

I know that with any hatch, auto is the preference; but I was surprised to see the lack of interest in this car.

Normally, trade buyers will pay $5000 -$6000 for a comparable damaged 5 door GD.  This 3 door barely made $2000.

As you said elsewhere re: Aus car sales , post the "miracle" the true state of our economy became apparent to the masses. The tightening of the  purchasers fist has increased, even affecting the used sector. Same for bikes , there are some real bargains out there,  if you've got the cash

Would have been a bargain at 2k if repairs were simple, throw a GD-03 head unit in it for modern buyers appeal and you’ll get 9 or 10k without a worry I’d expect.
