Hi All.

My new to me 2012 mk2 i30 is a Classic, base model.  Where the armrest would be in an ideal world, there is just a large open topped box.  It has flush surfaces so i'm not sure if it can be modified to take an armrest lid.  Or do i need to change the entire console for one with an armrest?  Thanks.   :goodjob2:

Loving the car so far.   Just want to spec it up slightly.

Best bet would be try and source a lidded one from a higher model from a breakers/wreckers yard.

Hi. Sorry for long delay replying.  This is what I've got at the moment.

I think I'll have to buy the whole new console.  No biggie.

Pretty  much as I expected. Hope you can source a used one.  Retail will probably be expensive.

Ok, think i'm going to get a used centre console with armrest built in.  Is there only one type on an i30?  2012 model.  Some are listed as leather .
Thankyou.

I bought a cheap chinese armrest to my FD. At the time they sold those to GD models also. It goes straight in to the open box and few screws need to be drilled to the bottom. Original armrest is definately better option, but I did not want to spend too much time and money sourcing one. Wreckers might be best option, if they are open. Most likely it will take months to get anything from china, or any where else overseas.
