DAYCO Timing Belt Kits with Water Pumps - Failure

Currently working on a Water Pump, Hyundai D4EB 2.2CRDi, this also could apply  to Sonata and Granduer, Kia D4EA as well.

The current Timing belt kit is 47 000K old installed late 2017.

The water pump seal has failed which is pretty poor really. Aftermarket made in Korea ,DAYCO supplied

here's some phots on something else I noticed internally.

OEM has a substantially larger surface area on the impellor which suggests it would have higher flow.

I would say separately it's around $90 for the aftermarket

You can get the OEM for about $120 online, based on this instance I'd pay the extra.

A good thought to compare. Better performance is justify cost.
