Hi. Hope you're all well, i'm new to here but just needed some advice is possible please.
I have a 2015 Hyundai i30 automatic Diesel. Everyone who seems to walk past my car tells me how loud it seems.
I took it to my local garage who have had a look at this and it seems to make a noise after you rev the car and the local mechanic told me it seems like its coming from inside the gearbox.
As my car is under 5 years old i've contacted Hyundai as it may still be in warranty and they told me they would have to diagnose the problem which will be £110 an hour and then once diagnosed they can tell me if it comes under the warranty or not?
Anyone ever had these issues before and could advise please?

Is the charged detailed in the handbook re warranty claims?

If not then I would expect and I would argue, it should be done foc.

  • 1.4 Petrol Active I'm no expert, so please correct me if

Just an update and any information or help would be very much appreciated :)

I took my car to a Hyundai specialist who said the tapping noisy is 100% coming from the gearbox but without stripping it all down i cant say what in the gearbox is making the noise.
Hyundai are still saying they will have to diagnose the problem first at £110 an hour to see what is the cause and whether the cause is under the warranty.

I'm also wondering as when i brought the car ( off BMW ) they never provided me with the service book although it was listed as full service history.
After 6 months of trying they managed to send me a new book ?( obviously with no stamps ) and the 2 invoices of the services carried out on the car ( 1 from a previous owner and 1 that BMW did before selling me the car ).
Would this have any effect on my 5 year warranty on the car?
I'm just hoping that all this comes under warranty as god knows how much the total bill will come too.

Thanks

These days of computers we keep a record of everything.  If all done by Hy, then there's a record , if not , maybe BMW dealer has records or previous owner details.

What auto do you have fluid or DCT?

If DCT , I have posted here (search) about the tapping.

No, a lot of inexpert rabbiting-on in there. I'll sort info if and when @DanJ31987  lets us know what the transmission is.
