Hello,
I need help regarding installation of reverse camera for my Hyundai i30 2014
I've already replaced the head unit from GD-01 to GD-03.
But I'm not sure about the wiring and installation for GD-03. Can someone please help me with that?
Would really appreciate with your help.
Thank you.

You will need to create a wiring harness from the head unit to the tailgate ( it won’t have the wiring ready, unfortunately).

I ended up going to the wreckers and cutting the harness out of a vehicle (to get the plug to fit the camera). The harness is also tapped into reverse lights to indicate to use camera.

You will also need to cut some metal to fit the camera where the old badge is.

I also fitted a time delay circuit so that the camera is fully extended before showing the picture on the head unit. The head unit powers the camera (takes signal from reverse light) so the delay timer sends signal to head unit after approximately 1 second after putting into reverse.

Thanks for that!  :goodjob2: Sounds quite complicated for a DIYer!

You are just not adventurous enough @Dazzler - or maybe OCD about things (a delay is something I would do).

Is there a pin-out for GD3 head unit to see what wires a camera should be connected to?

Thanks j_a_h_2077, it was easy :)

Looks like it would be "+" for A9 to switch the unit into "reverse" mode (to display camera picture and guiding lines) and A14/A15 for the camera's signal itself!

Thanks!
