You walked into a room and saw a bed.

On the bed, there were 2 dogs, 4 cats, a giraffe, 5 cows and a duck.

There were also 3 chickens flying above the chair.

How many legs are on the floor?

I reckon 6 - you have 2 legs and chairs usually have 4

The bed previously had 4 legs but they have collapsed under all the weight. The fourth cat was the last straw

How many legs are on the floor?

Is there a distinction between legs and feet?

Also, where the hell did a chair come into it?

Attached to your feet are your legs. Feet touch the floor, not the legs.

Chair is there for you to sit on as you can't get in the bed due to the animals taking up all the bed.

I thought the question was going to be:
"What have you walked into??"

" Bestiality  orgy" was my answer .

The answer to this used to be 6, but the poster added one word "CHAIR".... which added another 4 legs..... the original had the chickens flying above the bed.... :)

10 was my first answer but I can't see chickens flying for long so I added another 6

Think these guys have been in lockdown too long. The Brain is being starved of sensory input and so to avoid total melt it reverts to ideas like this.
Next,  we will see;

My answer is now zero.

If the question had been feet rather than legs my answer would still be zero - because Lester would argue that you were wearing socks and shoes and your feet were not in contact with the floor.

He would still argue about it if you had bare feet because the floor would have a floor covering of some sort. Lino, carpet, laminate flooring etc............

If the animals were all standing in the room rather than being on the bed the answer would be 2. The duck has feet but the other livestock have paws or hooves and you are wearing shoes or even wellingtons because of all the shit.....the permutaions are endless. :whistler:

The animals should all be in the yard anyway.

There are only 3 feet there. Less to worry about.

I agree, @CraigB
I had to make the following assumptions for my answer:
1. I have two legs on the floor once I entered
2. The bed has 4 legs (ours has a 5th in the centre)
3. The chair has 4 legs
4. The animals are all on the bed with no legs touching the floor
5. The chickens all landed on the floor at the time of counting and all 3 stood on 2 legs
2+4+4+6=16

For all we know, the menagerie and the bed are in a painting hanging on the wall, the chickens are likewise wall hangings and the chair may or may not be really on the floor.

Perhaps when he walked into the room he only had one foot on the floor, hard to walk with both feet on the floor. That is if you are counting the feet as a
leg.  :snigger:

My furniture legs all have little rubber feet, so I may as well dive straight into zero. :crazy1:

Once I've sawn the bed all the buggers have fallen on the floor.

After reading all the permutations my 'eads banging so I'm off down the pub for a swift half........ But they are still closed..... So I'll sit in the garden having a tinny.

The answer is simple....... 8.

Bed has 4 legs and chair has 4 legs equals 8.

You are excluded as your feet are touching floor not your legs as legs are attached to your feet which are between the floor and legs.

Well this is easy, obviously the egg since chicken evolved from some other bird!

But was the egg more chicken than its mother?
The real answer is more general, the egg because dinosaurs laid them before there were chickens.
