Hello everyone and thanks in advance.

I have been trying to remove the passenger air vent on a Hyundai I30 GD forever with no luck. Does anybody seem to know how to do that?

:blubber:

Bump...

Sorry mate, I know it's GUT wrenching when you don't get a speedy response to a cry for help.. :disapp:

But don't VENT your frustrations too quickly... :winker:

We are a world wide forum / club with members in around 80 countries I believe all on different time zones.. Some members probably only get on once a week or less (unlike me) and so it might take  awhile before someone who has done this spots your post.

Now on the positive side I reckon the chances of a how to video on You Tube are pretty high. I would assume most Hyundai (and Kia)vents for that matter.. are probably secured the same way. so search "removing Hyundai i30 air vents" first then expand your search if necessary to say "removing Hyundai Elantra air vents" then may just Hyundai air vents.. I'm sure something will come up..

Good luck with it. Can't say i've seen a how to on here in the 12 years we've been operating.

I'm on my way out, but even this quick look brought up some potential help..

If you are refering to the middle vents - silver trim in pic - they just clip out, we have them out last weekend needing to get to consol to replace "$250" EPB switch.
Need to pull them fairly hard & I guess just before they break, they unclip.

Thanks Neville, Without watching any of the You Tube Videos I assume the outer ones are probably the same.

@Gut432 We might be getting some traction on your enquiry.

No it is not the middle ones. Those are easy to find on youtube. It is the one on the far end of the dashboard that I need to take out, tried prying it out but no success. They might be held by screws on the sides but not sure. I do know how to use the search box, google and youtube and I wouldnt have bothered coming here if I had managed to find some info on my own.

Oh ok.... Sorry, trying to help. If you click on the YouTube link I posted earlier it will take you to several videos which you can click on and watch. I'm sure at least one will give you enough info to get it sorted.  :undecided:

I am not sure if this helps this was on a earlier model i30 I did read that if you remove the glove box you can get to a screw that holds the vent in and once removed you remove the vent but it is a tight fit.

Not sure Dazz if this applies to the GD model though but guess it is worth a try. :)

Just did a search with Mr G for "i30 air vent part number" and came up with a number of pics.
From these it looks like it might just clip out

Link i30 Air Vent

Looks like the part # is: 97480-2H000

Just did a serach for part # & came up with this expolded view - doesn't look like there are any screws holding it

I know this isn’t the passenger side view but I’m sure if you can remove the similar piece circled on the passenger side you will get access to two screws to remove the vent

Thats not for GD.

Here is the one I am looking to remove..
:link: HYUNDAI 97480A6000 i30 (GD) 2015 Air vent

The part number is 97480A6000.
It looks like there might be some screws or clips holding it in place, but really no idea how to get to it.

Cheers for that! Not a big fan of using knives for that sort of thing. Most car accessory dealers have fairly cheap trim tools for that purpose, like mini crowbars. A bit more gentle than a knife.

Yes I wouldn’t recommend using a knife, definitely get some trim tools they make it much easier.
