i30 S 2015 UK - a few issues

Hi,
I have a few small issues with my model i30 S 2015 UK. It is around 55k miles. I acquired it a couple months back.
1. The gears are a bit hard to change sometimes they feel a bit jerky. Will top up transmission fluid help?
2. There is a knock or squeak when doing full turn or going through hump. Is it shock absorber related?
3. The dipped beam is very dim. I have read the forums and I couldn't find a perfect solution. Is there an LED that can pass MOT or I need to stick to halogens? Brighter halogens just don't last it seems waste of money.

1. Change transmission oil.
2. Can be. I would check the stabilizer connection links first. They often knock in turns and bumbs when worn out. Cheap and easy fix, if needed to be changed. Rubber mounts of stabilizer can squeak when the rubber gets dry. Quick test with wd-40 to the rubber will tell if it makes the squeak go away. If it does, then silicone grease/spray/oil will make the squeak go away for a longer time.
3. Lights are designed for halogens, so that is the one you should use. Many use long life bulbs. Especially old diesels destroy normal bulbs fast.

Can I top-up the transmission oil or it needs full flush?
Are there any halogens which are a bit brighter but with long lifespan or I should stick to the OEMs?

Is it a manual or automatic? Have you checked the oil level and it is missing oil?

Of course you could top it up. It is your car and you can do what ever you wish.

Based on the age, and driven miles, the transmission oil should be changed, if it has not been changed before. But as you mentioned that it does not feel right, then oil change is the right way to proceed.

There are no extra bright and extra durable lights. You have to choose between brighness and how long they last. Brights burn out faster. Long lasting are dimmer.

It is manual. I will do a total flush with a mobile mechanic as the dealer is quite expensive.
Does anyone know if the full service with Hyundai dealer includes total flush or it is only top up?

Full flushes are done only to automatics. In many automatics transmissions there are all kinds of pipes and valves and torque converter if traditional automatic. So some old oil is left inside the transmission when drain plug has been taken out. Flushing basicly runs the automatic oil through all the valves taking old oil out and putting new in. Or sometimes the oil is changed, transmission is used, then changed again. Several times. Old and new oil will mix, but eventually there is so much new oil, it is almost new.

In manual transmissions there is no need for a flush. All oil comes out when drain plug is opened. Easy to drain and fill with new oil. In service they will change the oil.
