Hi all

Just some quick, low quality pix of my i30.  The good camera has been packed away for holidays but had to give you a quick viewing before going away.  Enjoy

Cheers

Looking great there Brian. I wish mine had a rear spoiler - really sets it off. And the alloys are mint  :D

Thanks for the pix Bumpkin... We have a Vivid blue one with stripes somewhere else on the site (think it was from an advert) Your wheels are the same brand (MS design I think) as i30manUK and Hemmi have on their sports models... Nice.. :D

Stripes would look good on our moonlight blue as well but if I suggested it the "one who must be obeyed" would say...

"how old do you think you are...."

Hi all

Thankx for the comments!!

I would probably not have picked the stripes but at that price who could argue.

It was actually my wife who first saw it, our Hyundai dealer shares premises with Ford and she simply said "ooh there is one with stripes over there".  My response was it is probably a Fiesta ST (which I did not want) as you could only see the roof from where we were but then we got closer and the rest is history.

There seem to be two camps with stripes, the love 'ems and the hate 'ems, nobody in the middle ready for conversion.

Yes I know double yellows, that is actually a dead-end side street beside my daughters nursery where all the parents drop off.  In effect by getting out of the vehicle it is parked but it really is only for offloading officer, my wife will be back in a minute!

Mind you look closely, they are not actually complete therefore they have no authority, in order for the offence to be true both lines must be complete with no missing sections.

Cheers

Are you Mr Loophole in disgiuse?

(For non UK members, Mr Loophole is a celeb lawyer who for a generous fee will argue in court the failings of our wonderful legal system and is 99.9% certain of getting the charges dropped).

Hi Brian - and welcome! Sorry to say I'm in the 'nice car - shame about the stripes' brigade, because I'm too old for them!  :geek:

Hi eye30 et al

No, not Mr Loophole just a bit of sarcastic humour more aimed at the fact that despite paying the same amount of VED as my colleagues further South we have the most abysmal pot-holed, terribly maintained road network you would ever have the discomfort to drive upon.  Fortunately the i30 even with the big alloys does a pretty good job of soaking up the ruts!!

Having just spent a week touring this beautiful country I have to say I just luuurve the auto-wipers and the looks from bystanders when you go past.  Of particular interest was the "WTF" looks from the Corsa/Saxo "doodz" who apparently inhabit every settlement of more than 5 houses in the UK.

I met another i30 when I got back to Aberdeen tonight and the reaction of him and his passenger was identical to my wife and I, a sort of "look someone else HAS got one" coupled with excitement and then that all knowing acknowledgement of "we understand something that few others have cottoned onto yet".

Mind you I met loads of Ceeds on my travels so the idea and word is kind of travelling.

Cheers
Brian

Where I live you sometime think the driver in front is drunk.  BUT no just another swerve to miss another pot hole.

Guys

I saw another one today at the local supermarket, so far I have seen a red 1.4 petrol, and 2 grey CRD's up here (plus mine of course!)

Hi Hemmi

Given the press coverage over here of the footie this week, once again there is no point in any other nation caring about the WC qualifiers since apparently Theo Walcott is going to win the entire championship on his own!!!

Cheers

Bumped from Hemmis i30, just cos I need the coverage

Yup mine still has the fake exhausts

Aren't you gonna do something about that
I just cant drive a car with fake exhaust, it's so silly, and everybody laughing
I also had a problem with my right rear light, the smoke was coming under the car and through the rear bumper and on the light, I dont have that problem anymore :)

Hmmm

Nobody here has noticed they are fake to be honest with you, the only comments I have had go something like

"Coooooool, it has shaped pipes like the new Civic!!"

I just smile and agree

As long as that continues no need to spend my hard earned in these times of trouble I reckon

Hold on....why am I writing this in Hemmi's i30    Time for a copy and bump to bumpkins i30 I reckon

Hi Bumpkin,

Please give out some cards or flyers if you get a chance... <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cool.gif" alt="8-)" title="Cool" />

Stuck a flyer under the wiper of a 2.0CRDi Premium (hrrmphh it has cruise control, more buttons than mine ) at the supermarket on Sunday, I wonder if they have lurked, looked, contemplated joining

Noted that there was a discussion about cleaning in Hemmi's i30 and thought I would update mine to show that I follow pretty much the same method as Hemmi for mine using the Autoglym products which are a bit cheaper than Meguiars for those on a budget.

Wet rinse.
Wash with microfibre finger sponge and Autoglym Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner from top to bottom leaving bodykit and wheels to last.
Clean wheels with Autoglym alloy cleaner and alloy spoke brush.
Rinse.
Dry with chamois and dry microfibre*.
Polish with Autoglym Super Resin Polish and two microfibre cloths.
Clean windows, mirrors and head/tail lights with Autoglym Glass Cleaner and normal lint cloth (on), microfibre cloth (off).
Re-polish bodywork with Autoglym High Gloss Protection and two microfibre cloths.
Detail all black plastics with Autoglym Bumper Restore.
Apply Turtle Wax Tyre Gloss Protection to tyres.
Apply Alloy Wheel Clean and Protect (disposable wipes I picked up in Aldi)
Vacuum interior carpets and mats and like Hemmi use a damp microfibre (use the one marked *) for the cabin plastics.
Autoglym Leather Conditioner for the leather.

I usually take about 5 hours for that and get great results also.
