I assume there is a difference between driving in Summer

& winter. (MPG)

In winter getting a lower MPG, than summer ,

is this due to driving in a colder climate?

You have very cold air outside and when you drive through front grill engine gets cooled faster and uses extra fuel (~0.5l) too keep the working temperature.

+

when you press heating in car you take away its warmth and when you combine taking his heat+very cold air you gt that little extra fuel burning to maintain working temp.

I found it with my old Crdi and now with my Hybrid Camry uses more fuel in the cold weather and I put it partly down to slower to reach optimum engine temp ..

My hybrid doesn't seem to cut the petrol engine as early in the warm up cycle when I stop at lights and roundabouts either (gone from 6.3 to 6.5 LPH ) my old CRDi used to go from (5.4 to about 5.6 LPH) it's not much but still don't like it  :blubber:
